Hindi week-2020 celebrated at Braithwaite and Co. Ltd

New Delhi: Hindi Week-2020 was celebrated at Braithwaite & Co. Ltd during 14-21 September 2020 to promote Hindi as official language as part of Govt Policy and to create interest in use of Hindi amongst the employees of Braithwaite & Co. Ltd. During the period, various programmes were organized viz; Display of Banners and Posters, Competitions amongst employees with a view to their active participation and involvement for Hindi week Celebration. 

The concluding session of Hindi Week Celebrations was organized on 21st September 2020 at Corporate Office. Shri Yatish Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director, Shri Salim G Purushothaman, Director (Production), Shri D.K.Gayen, Advisor (Corporate) & Shri Rajnish Arora, Advisor (Marketing) adorned the dais.
 
Shri Anil Kumar Shahi, Works Manager (I/C)-CW/VW made the Welcome address. Shri Salim G Purushothaman, Director (Production), said that Hindi has been acclaimed as “RAJBHASHA” and we should make efforts to spread awareness on Hindi and make use of it in Official work as much as possible. Shri Rajnish Arora, Advisor (Marketing) suggested use of HINDI in simple activities like making Titles of Files, Filling up of Leave applications, Signatures etc. Shri D.K.Gayen, Advisor (Corporate) also endorsed that “Hindi” as a common language in India is very effective. But, unlike in China and other big countries, Hindi as a national language has not been possible even after 70 years of Independence due to sectarian politics.  Shri P.K.Mishra, GM (HR, Admn, Security) spoke on the origin of Hindi Diwas celebrations and importance of Hindi in socio-cultural & national integration.
 
Shri Yatish Kumar, Chairman & Managing Director addressed the employees and spoke on the occasion. He remarked that there has been improvement in usage of Hindi in Braithwaite & Co. Ltd over the years and the efforts made in this regard is worth appreciating. He commented that Hindi as a language is rich enough. In his personal experience, the same has brought him recognition as a Poet. Shri Kumar remarked that creation under pressure is ever lasting and BCL has been able to deliver its best because of challenging circumstances. 
 
Employees of Braithwaite across all levels also participated in the programme and senior officials of the Company Shri M.K.Chakraborty-ED(Corporate), Shri Debasis De- GM(Fin., CA, Vig)) also were present in the programme. Prizes were awarded on the day to employees who had won / participated in various competitions held earlier. Shri Deepak Kumar Thakur, Hindi Officer compered the entire programme and his amiable gestures were applauded.
