Ministry of AYUSH and Herbal Industry bodies signed MoU with National Medicinal Plants Board
New Delhi: An MoU with considerable significance for the Medicinal Plants sector was signed today between the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), Ministry of AYUSH and Herbal Industry bodies.
As a major objective of this MoU, the Herbal Industry bodies would be providing a buyback guarantee to the farmers/ tribals on medicinal plant cultivation and collection programmes supported by NMPB. This will help to conserve some rare medicinal plant species and to sustain the supply of quality raw material to AYUSH, Nutraceutical and Herbal industries.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary AYUSH who graced this virtual Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony, assured the Industry bodies of necessary support from the Ministry.
Mr Pramod Kumar Pathak, Additional Secretary AYUSH and Mr Roshan Jaggi, Joint Secretary AYUSH congratulated the industry for coming forward to join hands in the medicinal plant cultivation.
