Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched Matsya Sampada Yojana for the fisheries sector
New Delhi: Today on September 10, 2020, the Prime Minister of India launched the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) for the development in the Fisheries sector of the country.
The estimated investment in this scheme is Rs. 20,050 crores from 2020 to 2025 under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat package. As per the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), it is the highest investment in the fisheries sector.
The PM also inaugurated the e-Gopala App for the use of farmers and for the better and developed marketplace. Shri Narendra Modi said this scheme is very beneficial for those who are involved in the pisciculture. The government is aiming towards the doubling of production to boost the sector in the next 3-4 years.
Through the video conferencing he speaks the various farmers who engaged in these sectors from a long time ago. The conference is also attended by the Bihar’s Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar, he also mentions the benefits of the scheme.
