MOU
A Protocol Agreement signed by HEC, Russian Delegation and Mazgaon Dock Ltd
Ranchi: A high-level team from Russia, JSC 'Rosoboronexport', Baltic Shipyard, VINT and United Shipbuilding Corporation was on a three-day visit to HEC regarding co-operation in the field of Propeller Shafts.
HEC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) at the beginning and subsequently, the other cooperation modalities finalized.
In the past, HEC has manufactured and supplied Propeller shafts to the Naval Shipbuilders: Goa Shipyard Ltd., Mazagon Dock Ltd., Cochin Shipyard Ltd. etc. Shafting & Propellers for Indian Navy Ships are identified as potential ‘Make in India Project’. Presently shaft lines and components are large of import nature where the import content is much higher.
A presentation was made by HEC informing about its facilities and contributions to different sectors including Naval ship Shafts. Baltic Shipyard also presented their manufacturing range related to shipbuilding industry and their specific contribution to the Shipbuilding industry. Rosoboronexport, SPU VINT, United Shipbuilders Ltd. and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. briefed their domain area.
HEC thanked Rosoboronexport, Baltic Shipyard, SPU VINT, United Shipbuilders Ltd. and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. for their fruitful visit and hope to start manufacturing of the items at the earliest.
