Bandhan Bank Appoints Shantanu Sengupta as Head - Retail Banking
As Managing Director & Head of Consumer Banking for DBS Bank India, he oversaw the successful launch and scaling up of “digibank by DBS”
Mumbai: Bandhan Bank today announced the appointment of Shantanu Sengupta as its Head - Of retail Banking in India. He will be responsible for accelerating the growth of the retail franchise through vast and growing distribution while leveraging the digital transformation agenda of the Bank in order to deliver a true ‘phygital’ experience for all customer segments.
Shantanu comes with 27 years of rich experience in the Indian Banking & Financial Services Industry having served different leadership and client-facing roles across multiple international banks like DBS, The Royal Bank of Scotland, ABN Amro Bank, Citibank & Bank of America in India.
As Managing Director & Head of Consumer Banking for DBS Bank India, he oversaw the successful launch and scaling up of “digibank by DBS” - India’s first mobile-first paperless, signatureless digital bank & DBS Group’s first country of launch. Additionally, he was also instrumental in building up the Consumer Banking business of DBS Bank in India.

Shantanu has done a Master’s in Business Management from the University of Calcutta. He will be based in Kolkata and report to Chandra Shekhar Ghosh.
