BCCL signs agreement for commercial extraction of CBM
The agreement was signed by Shri. Prem. S. Sawhney, CEO, Prabha Energy Pvt. Ltd., and Shri. J.S. Mohapatra, General Manager (West Jharia Area), on behalf of BCCL.
New Delhi: Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. (BCCL) has signed a revenue-sharing contract with CBM developer Prabha Energy Private Ltd. (PEPL) for commercial extraction of coal bed methane from Jharia CBM Block - 1. The agreement was signed by Shri. Prem. S. Sawhney, CEO, Prabha Energy Pvt. Ltd., and Shri. J.S. Mohapatra, General Manager (West Jharia Area), on behalf of BCCL.
Shri. Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL, Shri. Binay Dayal, CMD, CMPDIL & Director-Technical, CIL, Shri. R.N.Jha, Director-Technical/RD&T, CMPDIL, Shri. A.K. Rana, Director-Technical/P&D, CMPDIL, Shri. Manoj Kumar, GM( Coordination), CMPDIL attended the signing ceremony via video conferencing.
Shri. Chanchal Goswami, Director-Technical/Operations, BCCL, Shri. J.P Gupta, Director-Technical/P&P, BCCL, and Shri. Chiranjib Patra, General Manager (Clean Energy Development), CMPDIL were present on the occasion, at Dhanbad.
CBM extraction is a part of CIL’s diversification portfolio under the clean coal initiatives.
