BCPL observed International women's day

Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) observed International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022 on the theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow” .BCPL observed a week long programme as part of the women’s day celebration.

To mark the occasion Ms. Mousumi Borpurzary, a trainer from Art of Living addressed the spouses of BCPL employees at BCPL township Barbaruah and Sivasagar and spoke on topics about obsessive compulsive disorder, high and low mood swings and Depression and Anxiety.

A session was also given to the peripheral and support female staff and other contract workers on how to deal with stress by Ms.Brinda Baruah Sharma a clinical and child psychologist of Assam Medical College and Hospital Dibrugarh.

Further Ms. Divya Capoor CGM (HR), ONGC addressed the women employees virtually and spoke at length about equal participation and leadership of women professionals in the corporate world.

Ms. Hasina Kharbhih, Founder and Managing Director of Impulse Social Enterprises, Social Entrepreneur was the invited speaker.

She addressed the women and shared her valuable experience on woman empowerment and breaking the bias relating to her own life story which was very much inspiring and encouraging and also addressed on rescuing victims of human trafficking and paved the way for them to lead a self independent and dignified life. The event was also graced by Shri Reep Hazarika, Managing Director, BCPL and senior officials of BCPL.

Shri Reep Hazarika, Managing Director (BCPL) while addressing the gathering spoke on the enormous contributions of women .He even spoke about the women leaders everywhere and every sphere.

Shri Asit Das, General Manager (HR) also emphasized about the role and responsibilities of women. He also spoke on the fact that women are already empowered they just have to realize the potential and worth and be resolute to achieve to what they aspire.

The day was also marked by women centric quiz show by quiz master Shri Asit Das where all women employees enjoyed.A cricket match was also organised among the women employees and spouses of the BCPL employees to mark the occasion.

In addition to this, all the women employees of BCPL visited Pujashree Old age home near Thakurthan Dibrugarh  and interacted with the residents.
