First unit of Tuticorin power project to be commissioned in December
CHENNAI. The first unit of the 1,000-MW Tuticorin thermal power project (2x500 MW), now under construction, is likely to be commissioned in December 2013 and the second unit by March 2014. The project is being implemented through a joint venture company, NTPL (NLC- Tamil Nadu Power Ltd,), according to NLC Chairman-cum-Managing Director B. Surender Mohan.
He mentioned this in his speech read out by NLC Director (Human Resources) Sarat Kumar Acharya (as Mr. Mohan is on an official trip abroad) at the Independence Day celebrations held on the NLC premises.
