Capacity Building Programme for Non-Official Directors of CPSES Concludes
Ranchi: The two-day Capacity Building Programme for Non-Official Directors of CPSES held at Radisson Blue, Ranchi from 18th to 19th June by Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India in collaboration with Central Coalfields Limited(CCL) concluded today. The program was conducted for Independent Directors of various CPSES to enhance their knowledge and awareness about their roles and responsibilities, functioning and skills as non official directors. The program also outlined the expectations of Independent Directors to ensure professional working of board.
In the program altogether 28 Independent Directors participated in the program from different PSUs of Eastern India.
The participants along with the trainers also visited the sports academy at Khelgaon, Ranchi which is being jointly run by CCL and State Government. The visitors were overwhelmed by this unique initiative and appreciated the social entrepreneurship of CMD Shri Gopal Singh.
The program was conducted under the supervision of Dr Madhukar Gupta, Additional Secretary, DPE, Ministry of Public Enterprises & Heavy Industries. Dr V R Narasindaimhan, Former Chief of Regulations, National Stock Exchange, Shri Anupam Kulshrestha, Former Dy. CAG of India and Prof Arun K Rath, Chairman, Centre of Excellence for Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility were the eminent expert trainer of the program. Shri Kranti Kumar, Additional Director, DPE coordinated the program.
Addressing the participants during the closing ceremony, Shri Gopal Singh, CMD, CCL said that he is sure that participants have been enriched by this program and their organisation will certainly be benefitted. He asked the participants to discharge their duty with the transparent, ethical, bold and philanthropic approach. He thanked Dr Madhukar Gupta and DPE for giving CCL this opportunity to co-host this program.
