Assam Flood: CIL Extends Financial Support for Assamese
New Delhi: Coal Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Coal India Limited (CIL) in a new CSR initiative is extending financial support of Rs. 63 lakhs to the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) - a charitable organisation, for the distribution of rations to poor people affected by floods in various villages of Assam.
ISKCON, on behalf of CIL, is distributing 800 ration packets per day including safe drinking water, for 10 days at different flood-affected villages in Assam.
Over 27 districts of Assam have been severely affected by the devastating floods. Due to the floods, around 25,10,989 people are now homeless and deprived of food and the basic necessities of life.
