New Delhi: Coal India Limited in a new CSR initiative will extend financial support of Rs 2 Crores to develop a multi-speciality charitable diagnostic and healthcare service Centre at Faridabad, Haryana. The project is being implemented by Bharat Vikas Parishad Social Welfare Trust who will create a 5-storey facility at a project cost of Rs18.78 Crores of which CIL is contributing Rs 2 Crores. An MoU to this effect was signed between CIL and Vikas Parishad Social Welfare Trust in the presence of Shri. S.N.Tiwari, Director Mkt. / P&IR, CIL.
The centre on completion will have an array of diagnostic and medical facilities including ophthalmology, dialysis, pathology, ultra sound, dentistry, radiology and generic medicine.
The centre will fill the gap by offering quality services at affordable prices for people especially from the economically weaker sections and will charge a minimum cost only to cover its expenses.
CIL has spent Rs 60 Crores in healthcare-related CSR interventions in FY 2020-21, which is 63% of its annual CSR expenditure.
