Cochin Shipyard Upgraded to Schedule A CPSE
The upgradation to ‘Schedule A’ was notified by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on July 31, 2023.
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has been upgraded from ‘Schedule B’ to ‘Schedule A’ CPSE by the Government of India. This is a significant milestone for CSL, which is the largest shipbuilding and maintenance facility in India.
The upgradation to ‘Schedule A’ was notified by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways on July 31, 2023. This upgrade recognizes CSL’s strong financial performance and operational efficiency, as well as its contribution to national security. India’s first-ever Indigenous Aircraft Carrier ‘INS Vikrant’ was constructed by CSL and was delivered in the last financial year, portraying its capability to build complex defence vessels.
