Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Developed Training Programs for Metro at Shastri Park Delhi
New Delhi: Established in 2002, the Training Institute at Shastri Park has developed training programs for metro rail-based urban transportation systems. With a state of the art training infrastructure, it is ISO 9001:2015 accredited for design, development & delivery of training programs. It's the only Indian academy with modern facilities to impart training on all facets of operations & maintenance of metro rail-based urban transportation systems. Over time, the Academy has trained over 25000 DMRC employees & 2000 trainees from other metro & non-metro institutions.
Spread across a campus of 10000 sq metres, the Academy provides holistic training in terms of knowledge, skill and attitude along with physical, mental and spiritual health of the trainees. This enhances the knowledge and skills of the employees. DMRC is a learning organization. With access to a well-stocked library, simulators to provide practical training, classrooms equipped with modern teaching aids, a hostel facility with messing and entertainment facilities, the trainees receive a 360-degree development.
Henceforth the Training Institute known across India as a premier metro rail-based training institute has been renamed as Delhi Metro Rail Academy. The renaming ceremony took place in the presence of Dr Mangu Singh, MD/DMRC & other senior officials at Shastri Park Depot. The Academy will be given a makeover including infrastructural, technological & academic upgradation, involving construction of a new building with simulators, telepresence room etc. The Academy will now be headed by HOD/Dean & each department will be led by Dy. HOD/Professor(s).
