Doorstep Banking Services launched by Finance Minister for the user of public sector banks
New Delhi: The Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman launched the doorstep banking services for the customers of public sector banks on Wednesday for the hassle-free and convenient banking and to ease the living and upgrading of the technology which will be very beneficial for the customers in an easy way to transact from home.
The service can be avail through mobile apps, customer services, and web portal. The government mostly targeted senior citizens, Defence personnel, CRPF, widows, Divyang individuals, students, salaried employees, corporate clients, retail shopkeepers, and street vendors.
She said, to further improve ease of living, they will leverage technology, offering online personal loans and doorstep banking, and enabling customers of one Public Sector Bank to access services across all Public Sector Banks.
"The banks need to introspect the on their core businesses," she added. In pan India, there are 100 doorstep banking centers.
It is shown that there is an improvement in the EASE index from 49.2 to 67.4. The overall score of PSBs has shown an increase in the performance over the past year.
