Smt. Geeta Kapur, a woman of immense substance, carved her path as first female leader to helm a Hydro CPSU, taking on additional charge as Chairman & Managing Director at SJVN on February 1, 2024.
SJVN Limited bid a warm farewell to Smt. Geeta Kapur, Chairman & Managing Director and Director (Personnel), SJVN at a function held at Corporate Headquarters in Shimla. Sh. Akhileshwar Singh, Director (Finance), Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Projects), Sh. Prem Prakash, Chief Vigilance Officer, Sh. V Shankarnarayanan, ED (Corporate Planning), Sh. S.L Sharma, ED (Finance), Sh. S. Marasamy, ED(CCD), Sh. Chandra Shekhar Yadav, ED(HR), senior officials and entire SJVN family extended their best wishes for her future endeavours.
Smt. Geeta Kapur, a woman of immense substance, carved her path as first female leader to helm a Hydro CPSU, taking on additional charge Chairman & Managing Director at SJVN on February 1, 2024. Notably, she previously made history by becoming First Women Director of company on October 18, 2018.
Her tenure ushered in an era marked by her rich & extensive experience and exceptional organizational skills. Under her leadership, SJVN achieved significant milestones including appointments on Fixed tenure Basis to meet emergent requirement of the company. Her commitment to excellence further led to SJVN's recognition as Great Place to Work on January 12, 2024. Additionally, SJVN attained PCMM Level-II certification in 2019 and Level III in 2020 under her stewardship. Her guidance saw SJVN's Corporate Office Complex ‘Shakti Sadan’ being awarded Four-Star rating by GRIHA Council making it First Building in Himachal Pradesh to get this rating.

Her vision and leadership have left an indelible mark on SJVN, reflecting her unwavering dedication to progress and empowerment.

Smt. Geeta Kapur, a native of Shimla, pursued her education at Loreto Convent Tara Hall, Bede’s College and Himachal Pradesh University Business School. Her journey from being first woman to join HR Team at Punjab Wireless Systems (PUNWIRE) in Mohali, to joining SJVN in 1992 as first Woman HR Officer, to becoming first Woman Chairman & Managing Director of SJVN is a testament to her resilience and leadership prowess.
