Dr Rajiv Lal steps down from the IDFC Board due to health issues
New Delhi: On Friday Shri. Rajiv Lal stepped down as the Non-Executive Chairman from IDFC bank due to his personal health issues. The bank receives a resignation letter from Dr. Lal on September 4, 2020, where he mentions that he has been dealing with his prolonged personal health issues for a while now.
He was the Part-Time Non-Executive Chairman from the board of the bank. From October 2015 to December 2018 he served as the Founder Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of IDFC First Bank.
He also served on committees of the Government of India and Reserve Bank of India. Not only this he was the executive chairman of infrastructure-focused non-banking finance company IDFC Ltd, which later received a banking license and merged with Capital First to become IDFC First Bank. No here he was also engaged with Warburg Pincus in New York as a partner, Head of Asian Economic Research with Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong; a senior staff member of the World Bank in Washington, D.C.
