DVC TO INVEST Rs 1094 CRORE IN KHAGRA JOYDEV COAL BLOCK
Kolkata: The Board of the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has approved an investment of Rs. 1094 crore in the Khagra-Joydev coal block located in Birbhum District of West Bengal.
The block allotted by the Government of India to DVC for supply of coal to its thermal power plants has a capacity of 103 Million Metric Tonnes. Once developed, the coal block will be operational for 30 years. Apart from spurring industrial growth, the development of the block will generate significant revenue for the state.
