Despite advancements, road accidents in India continue to disproportionately affect young adults, causing significant social and economic impacts. Similarly, while railway safety has improved, there is still much work to be done.

GSV’s unique mandate focuses on enhancing the multimodal logistics ecosystem, covering all modes of transport including rail, road, air, water, ports, and shipping.

The Centre will address infrastructure (technology), services (management), and regulatory reforms (policy) to boost the performance of India’s logistics sector.

The transportation sector faces numerous challenges, including accidents leading to economic losses, social consequences, and environmental damage.

Current safety measures are often reactive rather than proactive. CoETS at GSV aims to shift this paradigm by employing data-driven insights and cutting-edge technologies to enhance safety across all modes of transport.

The launch of the Centre of Excellence in Transport Safety at GSV marks a significant step towards creating a safer and more efficient transportation system in India.
