Govt revises DA for Central Government Employees
The government has decided to revise the rates of Dearness Allowance payable to Central Government employees and it will be enhanced from 46% to 50% of the Basic Pay effective from 1st January 2024.
The term Basic Pay in the revised pay structure means the pay drawn in the prescribed level in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC recommendations accepted by the government, but it does not include any other type of pay like special pay etc. The revised payments under the new D.A. structure will involve a 50 basis fraction in addition. The payment of arrears of Dearness Allowance shall not be made before the disbursement of salary in March 2024.
The orders will also be applicable for the civilian employees under the Defence Services Estimates and the expenditure will be chargeable to the relevant head of the Defence Services Estimates. Concerning the Armed Forces personnel and Railway employees, separate orders will be issued by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Railways, respectively.
