Govt asked SBI Chairman and three others MDs to appear in interview for banks top job

New Delhi: The government asked Mr. Rajnish Kumar Chairman of State Bank of India and other three Managing Directors to appear in the interview which will be conducted digitally by the Banks Board Bureau August 18 or 19. 

The other three MDs are Dinesh Kumar Khara, Arijit Basu, and CS Setty. They all are likely to be interviewed for the top job at the country’s largest lender.
 
The position of the current chairman Mr. Rajnish Kumar is vacating this October he is with SBI from 2017 and now the position for MD is vacant in the bank. 
 
Between 2017 and 18, the SBI’s net interest margin increased 3.01 percent from 2.43 percent which improved in the first quarter of the current financial year in Kumar’s supervision. 
 
The government recently extended the term of Securities & Exchange Board of India chairman Ajay Tyagi. It has also offered an extension to Union Bank of India chief executive Rajkiran Rai without any interview. It is also stated that it will be a positive effect if the current SBI chairman also gets an extension.
