MCL records highest ever coal dispatch in a day
MCL achieved this milestone by transporting 3.66 Lakh Tonne through rail, 1.45 Lakh Tonne through road and 0.34 Lakh Tonne through MGR mode.
Sambalpur- Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today recorded the highest ever coal despatch of 5.45 Lakh tonnes coal from its Talcher and IB valley coalfields situated in Angul, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh districts of Odisha.
MCL achieved this milestone by transporting 3.66 Lakh Tonne through rail, 1.45 Lakh Tonne through road, and 0.34 Lakh Tonne through MGR mode. Out of a total of 5.45 Lakh Tonne, 4.15 Lakh Tonne was sent to the power sector accounting for 76.1% of total despatch. MCL achieved this figure by despatching total of 99 rakes to its consumers.
Mr. PK Sinha, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, MCL praised team MCL for achieving this feat. He also said that in the coming days, MCL will definitely be able to reach newer milestones by surpassing this record.
MCL produced 148 million Tonne in the last financial year 2020-21 and has a target to produce 163 million Tonne coal during the current fiscal.
