Metro Railway strengthened its security arrangements by deploying extra RPF officers and staff at Park Street, Maidan, Esplanade, and Dakshineswar stations.

Metro carries more than 3.64 lakh passengers on New Year's Eve

Kolkata: Metro Railway has carried 3,64,539 passengers on New Year's Eve, i.e. on 31.12.2021. Total 276 services were run on that day to cater to the Metro users.

On 31st December maximum footfalls of 49,484 were recorded at Dumdum. Esplanade recorded 27.276 footfalls followed by Rabindra Sadan recording 23,881 footfalls. 15,851 footfalls were recorded in Park Street. 

In order to provide better services and ensure passenger safety. Metro Railway strengthened its security arrangements by deploying extra RPF officers and staff at Park Street, Maidan, Esplanade, and Dakshineswar stations. Lady RPF staff were also deployed to ensure the safety and security of ladies and children. Regular announcements were made requesting passengers to follow all Covid Protocols with the help of loud hailers and a Public Address System at all stations. Station staff also requested commuters to wear masks properly.

Additional booking counters. Each were opened at Dakshineswar and Esplanade stations.

Adequate number of staff were deployed at different Metro stations provide proper guidance to the commuters.

Metro commuters have expressed their satisfaction with the services provided by Metro Railway on New Year's Eve.
