New Surface Miner joins service at Balram OCP in Talcher Coalfields
New Delhi: A new Surface Miner was commissioned into service of the nation by Shri AK Swarankar, General Manager (Hingula Area) today at Balram OCP in Talcher Coalfields.

In 1999, MCL had introduced surface miners, as an environment-friendly technology, for the first time in Indian coal sector.

In MCL, Surface Miners have recorded about 97% of over 193 million tonne total coal production in FY'23.
