NHPC awarded 200 MW capacity Solar Power Project

New Delhi: India's hydropower board, National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), has bagged the 200 MW capacity Solar Power Project within 600 MW GSECL’s Solar Park at Khavda (GSECL Stage-1). 

The Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) issued a Letter of Intent dated 16.05.2023 to NHPC Limited for this solar project.

The company in its exchange filing states that the estimated financial implication for the said Solar Power Project would be Rs.1,007.60 crore (approx.).

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) is a state-owned electricity company in the state of Gujarat, India. It was established in 2003 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) to undertake power purchase and supply functions on behalf of the four electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs) in Gujarat.

GUVNL is responsible for the procurement, distribution, and supply of electricity in the state. It plays a crucial role in ensuring reliable and affordable power supply to consumers across Gujarat. The company procures electricity from various sources including thermal power plants, renewable energy projects, and power exchanges.
