NHPC participates in Power Summit 2019 Nepal
Kathmandu. NHPC participated in ‘Power Summit 2019’ organised by the Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN) from 21st to 22nd November 2019 at Kathmandu, Nepal. During the Inaugural Session of ‘Power Summit 2019’, NHPC exchanged letter of Intent with HIDCL (Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Ltd. – A company owned by Govt. of Nepal) for joint cooperation on development of hydropower in Nepal. The achievements of NHPC were also showcased in an attractive stall which was inaugurated by Smt. and Shri. Aniruddha Kumar, Joint Secretary (Hydro), Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. This event was attended by 764 participants from 21 countries.
NHPC’s delegation for ‘Power Summit 2019’ included Shri Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical), Shri A.K. Singh, Executive Director and other senior NHPC officers. Shri A.K. Singh, Executive Director also made a special presentation on NHPC’s role in hydro power development wherein he elucidated the technical prowess of NHPC and its role in hydro power development in India and neighbouring countries including Nepal. Shri Janardan Choudhary, Director (Technical) and Shri A.K. Singh, Executive Director also visited Indian Embassy in Nepal and held discussions on future plans of NHPC in Nepal with His Excellency, the Indian Ambassador Shri Manjeev Singh Puri and other senior Officers of the embassy.
