NLCIL distributes essential food items
Neyveli: NLC India, true to its vision, has been demonstrating its concern on Social Responsibility through a wide range of impactful programmes under CSR as well as peripheral development in Neyveli and other project locations all over India.
No sooner had the Government of India alerted the Nation about the COVID-19 threat, NLCIL swung into action by forming a strategic Management Group headed by the CMD and all Functional Directors participating. This Think Tank reviews on daily basis, the actions implemented and also takes instant decisions to keep COVID-19 at bay. Since March 2020, NLC India embarked upon various activities to alleviate the sufferings of PAP and under privileged and rural population in and around its operating areas.
In continuation of the above, today, Shri Rakesh Kumar, CMD, NLCIL along with District Collector, Shri V. Anbuselvan, IAS and Shri R. Vikraman, Director (HR), NLCIL, have distributed a package consisting of 10 Kg Rice, grocery items and Face masks, worth Rs. 500/- to more than 25,000 number of families in the 21 villages around Neyveli including Rehabilitation Centres, people belonging to Block-21, Block-30 and other Project Affected areas at an expenditure of Rs. 1.2 crores. Similar actions are being taken at NLCIL’s project sites all over India viz., Barsingsar, Tuticorin, Ghatampur, Talabira, Solar sites including Andaman at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.55 Crores.
The District Collector, Shri V. Anbuselvan, thanked the NLCIL management for its valuable support and yeoman service rendered to the poor and the needy.
