NTPC Bongaigaon organized Safety Mock Drill on Major Chlorine Leakage
The Mock drill is the requirement organized every six months to observe the Safety measures, fire-fighting arrangements, and response time by various departments to handle the disaster.

New Delhi: As per NTPC-Bongaigaon Disaster Management Plan, a Mock Drill on major Chlorine Leakage was conducted at Chlorination plant inside the plant premises today 12th November,2020.
NTPC, CISF, SDRF, Bongaigaon Refinery (IOCL), official from Factory Inspectorate, Kokrajhar State police, district administration and State Fire Service took part in the joint exercise.
As part of the exercise, a total of 5 victims from different locations of the plant were rescued by a joint team of SDRF, CISF and State Fire service. Rescued persons were given medical treatment by the medical team.
The whole exercise was undertaken under the chairmanship of Chief Incident Controller (Chief General Manager – Shri Rakesh Kumar) wherein Shri H.K.Brahma Commandant CISF, NTPC Bongaigaon were present along with other senior officers.

After the mock drill exercise, a debriefing meeting was held in CGM's conference room in which different observers posted at different locations shared their observations.
Shri T Ravinder, GM (O&M), Shri Ramakant Panda GM (Maintenance), Shri D P Patra, GM (Operations), Shri Tapan Jyoti Das, official from Factory Inspectorate, Kokrajhar,Shri A K Chawla, AGM (HR) attended the mock drill and later the debriefing meeting and gave their suggestions.
The entire exercise was conducted keeping in mind the COVID 19 protocols in place.
