NEW DELHI-To mark Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Market Operation Conclave with the theme 'Evolution of Regulatory Framework in Indian Power System, Present and Future in Market Operation' was organised by ERLDC POSOCO, Kolkata on 14th March 2022.
More than seventy five participants including senior dignitaries from West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Sikkim, ERPC, NTPC, NHPC, POWERGRID, DVC, etc,. attended the event making it a huge success.
The objective of organizing the Conclave was to exchange thoughts on evolution of Regulatory Framework and discuss on various challenges in Indian Power System.
The Programme began with a keynote from CMD (Addl. Charge) POSOCO Shri S.R. Narasimhan who highlighted the need of multi sectoral approach to understand market dynamics in electricity sector and advised to give priority to security, reliability, while ensuring adequate system inertia in high renewable energy scenario.
Shri S.S. Barpanda, Director Market Operations highlighted on the evolution of electricity markets in India focusing on day ahead, real time market and gave glimpses of the future of Indian Electricity market & its key vertices such as Ancillary markets, financial transmission rights (FTR) etc.
Eminent speaker Shri Vibhor Tandon from Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (MCX) gave in depth analysis of the working of future derivative instruments in electricity Market. Other emerging aspects of Electricity Market like Secondary and Tertiary Reserves was also discussed during the conclave.
