Railways has said that it cancelled 6,995 train services for maintenance work or for construction purposes, while 1,934 services were cancelled from March to May due to coal movement.

New Delhi: The Indian Railways this year cancelled almost 9,000 train services from which over 1,900 were cancelled due to coal supply in the last three months, mentioned a Right to Information (RTI) query.
This query filed by Chandra Shekhar Gaur, states, the Railways has said that it cancelled 6,995 train services for maintenance work or for construction purposes, while 1,934 services were cancelled from March to May due to coal movement.
Some trains have been cancelled by the Indian Railways as the ministry of railway advised to supply more coal due to the power shortage.
