RBI board discussed digital Currency & Private Crypto Currencies
The Board reviewed the current domestic and global economic situation, evolving challenges, and remedial measures.

New Delhi: The 592nd meeting of the Central Board of Directors of Reserve Bank of India was held on December 17, 2021, at Lucknow under the Chairmanship of Shri Shaktikanta Das, Governor.
The Board reviewed the current domestic and global economic situation, evolving challenges, and remedial measures. The Board also reviewed the half-yearly income statement of the Reserve Bank of India for the half-year ended September 30, 2021.
The Board also discussed various areas of operations of the Reserve Bank including the functioning of the Local Boards, activities of select Central Office Departments, and the draft Report on Trend and Progress of Banking in India, 2020-21. The Board also discussed various aspects relating to Central Bank Digital Currency and Private Crypto Currencies.
Deputy Governors Shri Mahesh Kumar Jain, Dr. Michael Debabrata Patra, Shri M. Rajeshwar Rao, Shri T. Rabi Sankar, and other Directors of the Central Board – Shri Satish K. Marathe, Shri S. Gurumurthy, Ms. Revathy Iyer, and Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi attended the meeting. Shri Debasish Panda, Secretary of, Department of Financial Services also attended the meeting.
