REC helping hand for labour engaged in construction of REC office building
New Delhi: Due to Government lockdown in view of the outbreak of pandemic Corona Virus COVID-19, several workers belong to various states like Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa, Gujarat etc.
REC decided to help these workers & other poor people residing in the vicinity by providing food & sanitizer/soap to these people so that these people need not to go outside for food,as a humanitarian gesture and to support Govt. initiative of “Stay Home, Stay safe”.Present strength of workers in the camp would be around 250 nos,engaged in construction of REC office building, Gurugram are unable to go to their home town due to non- availability of logistics.
Food material consisting of Atta, Rice, Dal, Rajma, Oil, Soap etc. for a period of 3-4 days were distributed to around 300 persons (Workers & other needy people in the vicinity) on March 28.2020 as the same could be arranged from the available local store. The efforts are being made to distribute weekly/monthly ration to all the people in the coming week. The lunch for all these people was also arranged on March 29,2020.
