SAIL emerges champion in All India Public Sector Volleyball Tournament
In the All India Public Sector Volleyball Tournament, SAIL beat OIL India (3-0) to become the champion of the tournament.
New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited won the All India Public Sector Volleyball Tournament 2024 held at Bhopal from 15 – 18 April 2024 organized by the All India Public Sector Sports Control Board (AIPSSCB). Earlier, SAIL had also emerged as the champion in the All India Public Sector Hockey Tournament, also organized by AIPSSCB, beating Food Corporation of India in Bhubaneswar, recently.
In the All India Public Sector Volleyball Tournament, SAIL beat OIL India (3-0) to become the champion of the tournament. Total nine public sectors viz. SAIL, LIC, BSNL, Coal India, Nyveli Lignite Corporation, OIL India, ESIC, BHEL and NALCO participated in the tournament.

The company runs and operates multiple sports academies at various locations in the country to nurture the budding sporting talents of the nation.

Apart from upgrading and developing sporting infrastructure and nurturing talents on a sustained basis, the company also organizes inter-SAIL sports championships across its plants and units to offer opportunities to hone sporting talents. SAIL organizes various games and sports competitions throughout the year under the aegis of the Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB).
