New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) on November 10, posted its financial performance for the half year and second quarter of the current financial year 2022-23 .
Performance of H1 FY 23 (Standalone)
-Crude Steel Production: 8.63 Million Tonne
-Sales Volume: 7.36 Million Tonne
-Revenue from Operations: Rs 50275 Crore
-Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA): Rs 3780 Crore
-Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rs 523 Crore
-Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rs 391 Crore
Performance of Q2 FY 23 (Standalone)
-Crude Steel Production: 4.30 Million Tonne
-Sales Volume: 4.21 Million Tonne
-Revenue from Operations: Rs 26246 Crore
-Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA): Rs 1174 Crore
-Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rs (-) 516 Crore
-Profit Before Tax (PBT): Rs (-) 386 Crore
The margins have been impacted by prices of imported coal and slowing down of demand of steel across economics. However, the on-going sustained infra push gives signs of better times ahead for the Indian steel market.
