SECL distributes foods packets and water bottles to the passengers
New Delhi: SECL distributes foods packets and water bottles to the passengers in Shramik Special Trains in Bilaspur Railway Station. Whole country was under lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The migrant workers those stuck in their workplace were relentlessly demanding conveyance to reach their native. Government consider their demand positively and Special Trains were run to carry Migrant laborers home.
SECL is playing its role and has not left any stone unturned to ensure that no migrant laborer goes hungry as the Shramik Special trains pass through Bilaspur railway station.
On 31.05.2020, SECL distributed 1650 food packets and water bottles to the Migrant laborers travelling by Rajkot-Bandel Shramik Special Train (No. 09273) & Vasai Road-Howrah Shramik Special Train (No. 09245) at the Bilaspur Railway Station. Similarly on 01.06.2020, SECL distributed 1300 food packets and water bottles to the Migrant laborers travelling by Pune-Howrah Shramik Special Train (No. 09273). These activities were carried out under the CSR initiative of SECL.
In is pertinent to mention that like other countries in the world, India is also severely affected by the global pandemic COVID-19. The lockdowns was imposed by Government of India in different stages to counter the community spreading of Corona Virus. Due to this the migrant laborer were stuck in their workplace, far from their native. Indian Railways has operated several Special Trains to safely transcend those migrant laborers to their native.
