New Delhi: Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Chaired a review meeting of 46 Sagarmala projects being implemented in Odisha for Rs 57,379 crores, with officials of Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, and Chairman Paradip Port Trust.
 
These projects, which are focused on port modernization, port connectivity, port-led industrialization, and coastal community development will transform Odisha’s coastline into an epicenter of economic development and international value chains.
 
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan mentioned "Happy to note that 14 projects worth Rs 5,006 crores have already been completed while 22 projects worth Rs 33,254 crores are under implementation and 10 projects worth Rs 19,059 are under development."
 
I am also happy to learn that Rs 5 crores have already been released by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India to the Fisheries Department, Government of Odisha for the new fishing harbor at Chandipur in Balasore district, which is being set up with an investment of Rs 50 crores.
 
The new fishing harbor will go a long way in improving the livelihood of the fishing community of Chandipur and nearby areas thereby contributing to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi’s dream of bringing about a Blue Revolution in Odisha.
