Shri Krishna Kumar Thakur Appointed Director (Personnel) at NMDC Limited

Hyderabad, 17 March 2026: NMDC Limited has announced the appointment of Shri Krishna Kumar Thakur (DIN: 10172666) as Director (Personnel) on its Board. The appointment, formalized by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India through Order No. S14013/1/2025-BLA dated 17 March 2026, is for a tenure of five years from the date he assumes office, or until further orders.

Shri Thakur brings with him a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in human resources and administration across Indian Railways and Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs). His leadership is expected to further strengthen NMDC’s organizational efficiency and talent management strategies.

Career Highlights and Professional Background

Previous Appointment at BHEL: Shri Thakur was inducted as Director (Human Resources) on the Board of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) with effect from 4 July 2023.
Indian Railway Personnel Service: He is a 1998 batch officer of Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS).
Educational Qualifications:
- Post-Graduate in Literature from Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur
- Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM-HR) from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)

Shri Thakur has handled HR matters of 35,000 personnel in Mumbai Railway Division and successfully led recruitment initiatives as Chairman, Railway Recruitment Cell, Western Railway, recruiting approximately 12,000 employees.

Indian Railways: Headed HR departments in Solapur, Bhopal, and Mumbai divisions, ensuring transparent HR practices and employee welfare.
