SJVN signed MoU with Government of Himachal Pradesh
New Delhi: SJVN entered into MoU with Government of Himachal Pradesh for Development of 7(seven) Hydro Projects of 1958 MW in the state. The MoU was signed in the august presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Sh. Jai Ram Thakur by Principal Secretary (Power), GoHP, Sh. Prabodh Saxena and Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN, Sh. Nand Lal Sharma. Hon’ble Education & Law Minister Sh. Suresh Bhardwaj and Chief Secretary Sh. Shrikant Baldi also graced the occasion along with other senior officers of Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The development of these projects will involve an investment of Rs. 18,165/- crores and will also lead to employment of around 10,500 peoples. These projects are located in the thee major river basins of Himachal Pradesh i.e. Satluj, Chenab and Beas. 210 MW Luhri Stage-1, 382 MW Sunni Dam, 172 MW Luhri Stage-II and 780 MW Jangi Thopan Powari are in Satluj Basin, 210 MW Pruthi HEP and 138 MW Bardang in Chenab Basin while 66 MW Dhaulasidh is in Beas Basin.
