SSLV Update: Satellites came down from orbit & 'no longer usable' says ISRO
New Delhi: ISRO, the national space agency of India on Sunday, August 7, launched the first developmental flight Small Satellit Launch Vehicle (SSLV) which is configured with three solid stages 87 t, 7.7 t, and 4.5 t.
However, the small satellite's all stages performed normally. Both the satellites were injected. But, the orbit achieved was less than expected, which makes it unstable mentioned ISRO.
The satellites have already come down from that orbit and they are no longer usable. The issue is reasonably identified. Failure of a logic to identify a sensor failure and go for a salvage action caused the deviation, ISRO said in a series of tweets.
A committee would analyse and recommend. With the implementation of the recommendations, it said.
Moreover, ISRO will come back with SSLV-D2 soon, as said.
