International Aviation Summit Held
New Delhi: International Aviation Summit in Delhi was organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), the Airports Authority India (AAI) and International Air Transport Association. There was an overwhelming response to the summit which was attended by more than 700 delegates and leaders from global aviation fraternity.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation, said: 'We are here to celebrate India’s phenomenal growth in the aviation sector in the last 50 months. Many businesses, particularly aviation, cannot survive and cannot thrive without that partnership. Minister of Commerce is in process of preparing a road map for India towards a 5 trillion dollar economy. While 60% of that will come for services, and aviation remains amongst the principle contributor to this.'
Addressing the gathering Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, said “The growth witnessed by Indian Aviation Industry is unpreceded and is being been seen nowhere in the world.
Speaking on the occasion the Secretary, Ministry of civil aviation congratulated the aviation fraternity for this achievement. He emphasized that it is not only the
50th months of double-digit growth but also the highest in the world double-digit growth and this growth can be maintained for next 50 months as well, provided the stakeholders work together.
Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Chairman, Airports Authority of India, reiterated the commitment of AAI to provide world-class airport infrastructure and ANS technology upgrade, commensurating to this unprecedented growth of aviation in India.
Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and IATA organized The International Aviation Summit to commemorate the 50th consecutive month of double-digit growth in India. Looking ahead, India is forecast to become the 3rd fastest-growing aviation market in the world by 2025, and passenger traffic is expected to grow to over 500 million in 2037. The 2-day event focuses on what it takes for aviation in India to thrive sustainably and to maximize the economic and social benefits of the potential growth. The Summit brought together CEOs, government authorities, key industry players and subject matter experts to share insights, explore opportunities and challenges that will shape the aviation industry in India in the next 20 years.
Airport Authority of India issues CSR funds for new construction in Gorakhpur, UP. The Airport Authority of India (AAI) issued Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for construction of rest house at BRD Medical College as well as inauguration of a new airport terminal building in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur. The 108-bedded double story rest house will facilitate visitors and attendees at the hospital. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the building.
