An Agreement between WCL and Xenergies Mines Private Limited to start mining work in AB Incline underground mine.

WCL's AB Incline underground mine will start again

New Delhi: Today, on 22.02.2024, an agreement was exchanged between WCL and XEnergies Mines Private Limited to start mining work in AB Incline underground mine of Nagpur area. Under this agreement, coal mining will now be done by XEnergies Mines Private Limited in the closed AB Incline underground mine of WCL.      

In a special program organized under the chairmanship of Chairman cum Managing Director Mr J P Dwivedi at WCLI Headquarters, the agreement was exchanged between Mr AK Singh, Director Technical (Operations/Planning and Projects) and Mr Shailendra Agarwal, Director of XEnergies Mines Pvt. Ltd.

Under this agreement, the responsibility of starting the work, rehabilitation, development and operation will be of Xenergis Mines Private Limited. This agreement has been made for 25 years on revenue sharing basis. The total coal production proposed during this period is 65.5 lakh tonnes. Coal production from AB Incline mine is estimated at 3 lakh tonnes per year. AB Incline underground mine is the second mine of WCL where mining work will be done on a revenue-sharing basis.

On this occasion, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of WCL, J. P. Dwivedi expressed hope that AB Incline underground mine will soon play an important role in meeting the coal requirements of the nation.

In this program, the Technical Secretary of CMD Mr Tarun Kumar Srivastava, the General Manager of Nagpur Region Mr Sunil Kumar, General Manager (CMC) Mr A. P. Singh and the Project Head of XEnergies Mines Pvt. Ltd. Mr Gurcharan Singh were specially present. Senior officials of WCL and XEnergies were present on the special occasion.
