WCL concludes Inter-regional chess, carrom and bridge competition

New Delhi: Inter-regional chess, carrom and bridge competition was organized from 12.06.24 to 14.06.24 in the cultural building located at Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) headquarters. Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri J.P. Dwivedi was presented as the chief guest in the prize distribution and felicitation ceremony of the competition.

In his address, CMD Shri J.P. Dwivedi, while describing the inclusion of sports in the daily routine of the employees as important, talked in detail about the strong sports culture present in WCL. He said that games like chess, carrom and bridge are not only effective for entertainment but also expand imagination and mental strength. He gave his best wishes to all the players.

General Manager (Welfare & CSR) Shri A.K. Singh presented the welcome address in the function. Deputy General Manager (Personnel/Industrial Relations) of WCL Shri R.K. Singh was the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the competition. Singh, members of the Welfare Board, officers and players were present in large numbers. The function was conducted and vote of thanks was given by Mr. Milind Chahande, Manager (Public Relations)

In the chess competition, the Ballarpur region team came first while the Chandrapur region came second. In the carrom competition, the Nagpur region team came first and the Pathakheda region came second. Similarly, in the bridge competition, the Pathakheda region came first and WCL Headquarters came second.
