Bhopal: CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited has rolled out the first power transformer from its new greenfield manufacturing facility at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh on 4 September 2026.

The plant, located in the MPIDC industrial area, is India’s largest single-location power transformer manufacturing facility. It is designed to manufacture 220 kV to 1200 kV class transformers with a planned capacity of 45,000 MVA.

Key Highlights

  • A part of the facility is now operational with an installed capacity of 10,000 MVA.

  • The remaining sections will be commissioned in phases to reach the full planned capacity of 45,000 MVA.

  • With this addition, CG Power’s total transformer manufacturing capacity will increase to 1,20,000 MVA.

  • The project involves an investment of ₹792 crore, funded through QIP and internal accruals.

  • The facility is spread over 50 acres and has the capacity to roll out up to 35 power transformers every month.

The first transformer rollout was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav.

The new plant will help CG Power cater to rising demand from renewable energy, data centres, railways, utilities and export markets, while strengthening India’s power infrastructure manufacturing capabilities.
