PM Modi Launches Development Projects Worth 7000 Crore in Motihari Bihar
PM Modi inaugurates 7000 crore development projects in Motihari Bihar focusing on railways roads IT fisheries and rural upliftment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development projects worth over 7,000 crore rupees in Motihari, Bihar today. The projects span various sectors, including railways, roads, rural development, fisheries, electronics, and information technology. In his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the government's commitment to developing Eastern India and stated that Bihar's transformation is essential for India's growth.
Modi referred to Champaran as a historic place that symbolizes India’s freedom struggle. He noted that just as Mahatma Gandhi found direction there during the independence movement, today’s projects will pave the way for a new future in Bihar. He said it is time for Eastern India to rise and promised that Motihari would shine in the East like Mumbai does in the West.

The Prime Minister mentioned that in the last ten years, Bihar has received nearly 9 lakh crore rupees in development aid from the Centre; that amount is four times more than in the previous decade. He announced that over 12000 families in Motihari received new pucca houses under the PM Awas Yojana, while another 40000 families got financial support for construction, with most beneficiaries coming from Dalit, Mahadalit, and backward communities.
Focusing on women's empowerment, Modi stated that over 3.5 crore women in Bihar now have Jan Dhan accounts, and 20 lakh women have become Lakhpati Didis. He released 400 crore rupees as a Community Investment Fund to back self-help groups and lauded initiatives like Jeevika Didi for promoting self-sufficiency among women.
He announced that starting August 1, a new scheme will provide 15000 rupees to first-time job seekers in the private sector, with the government planning to spend 1 lakh crore rupees on this effort. The Prime Minister also revealed that 60000 youths in Champaran alone have benefited from Mudra loans in the last two months.
PM Modi opened several railway projects, including doubling key rail lines, and laid the foundation for a Vande Bharat train maintenance hub in Patliputra. He flagged off four Amrit Bharat Express trains and inaugurated modern IT infrastructure, including STPI facilities in Patna and Darbhanga, to support startups and the software industry.
In the fisheries sector, projects under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana were launched, which included hatcheries, biofloc units, and aquaculture facilities to enhance employment and rural development. He also announced the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana for 100 backward agricultural districts to aid over 1.75 crore farmers across India, including many in Bihar.

Modi concluded by saying that the new projects would greatly improve connectivity, employment, and prosperity in Bihar. He praised the current Bihar government's work and encouraged citizens to unite for a brighter future. The event was attended by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and several Union Ministers.
