PM Modi to inaugurate Chenab Railway Bridge on 6th June in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Chenab Bridge in Jammu and Kashmir on the 6th June.

Dr. Singh in a social media post, stated that the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway bridge, stands tall in Jammu and Kashmir as a proud symbol of New India’s strength and vision.

He added that the bridge is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Railway Link (USBRL) project and has been engineered to withstand the toughest natural challenges.

The Chenab Rail Bridge is a railway bridge over the Chenab River in Reasi district of the territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a steel and concrete spanning 1,315 m across the river gorge.

The structure consists of an approach bridge which is 530 m long and a 785 m long deck arch bridge
