PM Narendra Modi Shares Sanskrit Subhashitam Urging Record Voting for Stronger Democracy
New Delhi, April 29, 2026: Narendra Modi shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam emphasising the responsibilities of citizens and representatives in strengthening India’s democracy.
According to an official release from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister urged citizens to ensure record voter participation, highlighting that active civic engagement is key to building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
Call for Active Citizenship
In a message posted on social media platform X, the Prime Minister stated that as vigilant citizens, people must contribute to nation-building by participating in elections and reinforcing democratic values.
He said that record voting will help strengthen the foundations of a capable and prosperous India.
Sanskrit Verse on the Duties of Representatives
The Prime Minister shared the Sanskrit verse:
“राज्ञो हि व्रतमुत्थानं यज्ञः कार्यानुशासनम्।
दक्षिणा वृत्तिसाम्यं च दीक्षितस्याभिषेचनम्॥”
The verse highlights the ideals of public leadership, including:
- Continuous upliftment of citizens
- Faithful and disciplined discharge of duties
- Fair and impartial governance
- Generosity and equality in public service
- Dedication to the welfare of the people
Strengthening Democratic Participation
The message reinforces the government’s continued focus on increasing voter participation and encouraging citizens to actively contribute to democratic processes.
