BEML advanced technology to soon boost much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper Express

State-owned Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. (BEML) has boosted up the much-awaited Vande Bharat Sleeper Express coach using the advanced Integral Coach Factory (ICF) technology. The Indian Railways is all set to unveil the nation’s Vande Bharat Sleeper Express ahead of the festival season, according to officials. The likely debut date is September.
The existing structure, which primarily offers the Car Chair services suited for daytime or short journeys, this new model design offers seats suitable for sleeping positions. The premium train is soon to connect Delhi and Patna via Prayagraj, with a scheduled time of just 11.5 hours, cutting down from 12-17 hours, and further provides comfortable seating arrangements. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will be running at a maximum speed of 180 km/h and will be significantly faster than the Rajdhani Express, which takes around 23 hours on the same route.
The official report shows that the train is expected to depart Patna at 8pm and will arrive in Delhi by 7:30 am on the next day, while for the return journey from Delhi it will follow a similar overnight schedule.

The train is expected to be equipped with multiple modern techniques like CCTV cameras, LED screens for information and entertainment, automatic doors with sensors, modern fire safety systems, andonboard announcement facilities. The internal or interior features are inspired by aircraft design with an aim to offer passengers a premium travel experience, according to report sources.
Meanwhile, the ticket expenses are expected to be a little bit higher, 10-15% higher than the Rajdhani Express on the same route. However, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express will expectedly offer passengers on this route a cheaper alternative to air travel.
