Hyderabad, March 26, 2026: Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), a premier Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, has successfully completed the First-Off Production Model (FOPM) of its Advanced Akash Weapon System, marking a significant milestone in India’s defense capabilities.

The upgraded system features enhanced subsystems, improving precision and combat performance against diverse aerial threats, thereby strengthening the operational efficiency of the Indian Armed Forces.

 

“The successful FOPM of the Advanced Akash Weapon System underscores BDL’s capability to deliver sophisticated defense solutions for India’s security forces,” said N. Nagaraja, Company Secretary, BDL.

 

With the FOPM completed, BDL is set to commence deliveries of the Advanced Akash Weapon System to the Indian Armed Forces shortly, enhancing India’s strategic defense posture.
