Coal India Inter Company Table Tennis Tournament 2023-24 concluded at WCL
NCL team winner, SECL team runner-up

“Coal India Inter Company Table Tennis Tournament 2023-24” was organized from 25 to 27 July, 2023 at Western Coalfields Limited Headquarters. In the tournament, the Team Championship was won by the team from NCL and the team from SECL came runner-up. Teams from CIL, CCL, CMPDIL, ECL, SCCL, SECL, MCL, NCL and BCCL along with Western Coalfields Limited participated in this tournament.
WCL CMD Mr. Manoj Kumar was present as the chief guest at the closing and prize distribution ceremony on the last day of the tournament. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Director (Personnel), Western Coalfields Limited, Director Technical (Operations) Mr. J.K. P. Dwivedi, Director Technical (Planning & Projects) Shri. Of. Singh and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre were present.
CMD Shri Manoj Kumar in his address congratulated all the teams for their good sporting performance. He said that preparation for that game is more important than winning or losing in the match. He said about the importance of table tennis that this game increases mental and physical strength. He asked all the players to continue playing better in the future and inspired all the personnel present to adopt this game in their daily routine.

Director (Personnel) Dr. Sanjay Kumar in his address said that sports develop team spirit, which is essential for success in any field. He congratulated the tournament-winning team NCL and motivated other teams to do better in future.
On this occasion, Mr. Ashish Krishnamurthy, member of the steering committee, in his address, extended his best wishes to the winning and runner-up team.
Director (Personnel) Dr. Sanjay Kumar was given special recognition by the Welfare Board of Western Coalfields Limited for the services rendered during his tenure.

Mr. Mohnish Soni of NCL was the winner in men's singles in the tournament while Mr. of Western Coalfields Limited. C. Sreeramamurthy was the runner-up. In women's singles, Mrs. Anju Bose of Western Coalfields Limited was the winner and Mrs. Paushali Barman of CMPDIL was the runner-up.
Mr. Manoj Singh of SECL was the winner in Veteran Singles while Mr. Rajendra Bajodia of Western Coalfields Limited was the runner-up. In the men's doubles final, the team of SECL was the winner, while Mr. Ajay Upadhyay and Shailendra Singh of Western Coalfields Limited were the runners-up. Mrs. Anju Bose and Mrs. Nanda Ubnare of Western Coalfields Limited were the winners in the Men's Doubles Final. All the guests presented the winning trophy to the NCL team and the runner-up trophy to the SECL team.
Member of the Steering Committee of Western Coalfields Limited, Mr. R.K. N. Sharma, Francis Dara, Ashish Krishnamurthy and Satish Gabale had prominent presence. Along with this, the members of the Welfare Board of Western Coalfields Limited, Mr. Brijesh Singh, Kameshwar Rai, Shrikant Chowdhary and Ajay Pal Yadav also had a special presence.
During the program, the trade union representative Shri S. Why. Secretary of JAMA and Table Tennis Association Mr. Ashish Potnis was also present. A large number of officers and employees of Western Coalfields Limited were present in the visitors' gallery. The program was conducted and the vote of thanks was done by Mr. Milind Chahande, Manager (Public Relations).
