Delhi Metro Hosts Global Metro Experts for Key UITP Technical Meetings
The SEAS meeting was chaired by experts from Barcelona Metro, while the FIP meeting was chaired by Montreal Metro.

New Delhi, October 11, 2025: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) organised the International Association of Public Transport’s (UITP) 74th Signalling, Energy and Automation Systems (SEAS) and 86th Fixed Installations Platform (FIP) meeting from the 6th to the 8th of October 2025 at the DMRC Academy.
The SEAS meeting was chaired by experts from Barcelona Metro, while the FIP meeting was chaired by Montreal Metro. The meetings were attended by 15 international experts from nine Metro transport systems of cities like Madrid, Barcelona, Montreal, Vienna, Paris, Milan, etc.

Read Also : Delhi Metro Hosts Global Metro Experts for Key UITP Technical MeetingsOver the period of two days, various topics pertaining to learnings for dealing with power blackouts, System integration and big data opportunities in SEAS systems, balancing maintenance needs with increasing service demands, standardization of interlocking systems etc. were discussed. In the FIP group, modernization of infrastructure and fire protection etc. were deliberated.
The UITP delegates were also given a tour of the ‘State of the Art’ facilities available at DMRC’s academy for training of Metro officials. The delegates visited various simulators, tunnel training centre, etc., to get a first-hand experience of the same.
On 8th October, the UITP delegates were taken from the Jasola Shaheen Bagh Metro station to the Kalindi Kunj depot in a Metro train to give them a first-hand demonstration of the UTO train operations.
Read Also : India and UK announced Partnership for Connectivity & Innovation CentreDuring the train ride, the delegates were shown the auto-wash system, solar panels, etc. The various components installed in the UTO-enabled trains were explained to the delegates, followed by a presentation about the depot and UTO features. The rail check system installed in a train on the Magenta Line was also shown and explained.
The international experts expressed their appreciation for DMRC’s reliability and punctuality statistics and for the high level of technology utilisation in operations and maintenance, as well as the focus on the use of Renewable Energy sources.
