DVC builds 16,000 small dams on Damodar river to store rainwater

 
HAZARIBAG: The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has constructed more than 16,000 small earth dams and check-dams in the catchment area of the Damodar river and its tributaries to save rainwater. The water, thus saved, will be used for raising more than two crops in a year.
